PPG INDUSTRIES EXCELLENT SUPPLIER AWARD PRESENTED
TO J.B. HUNT DEDICATED CONTRACT SERVICES

LOWELL, ARKANSAS, March 26, 2004 - J. B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT) announced today that its Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) operating segment received an Excellent Supplier Award from PPG Industries, Inc. (NYSE: PPG), for superior accomplishments in 2003.

Kathleen McGuire, PPG vice president, purchasing and distribution, presented the Excellent Supplier Award trophy, made of PPG glass, to DCS representatives at a recent ceremony in Lowell, Arkansas.

“The performance of J.B. Hunt Dedicated Contract Services in 2003 was outstanding,” said McGuire. “Their overall quality, service, innovation, responsiveness and commercial value have been superb. J.B. Hunt has consistently met or exceeded our goals in handling some of PPG's most difficult freight, including temperature-controlled and hazardous-materials shipments. Also, their participation in our Supplier Added Value Effort ($AVE) program has reduced expenses and improved processes for PPG. We consider J.B. Recipients of PPG’s supplier awards are chosen by ratings and evaluations measuring quality, delivery, documentation, innovation, responsiveness and commercial value. Participation in the $AVE program, as well as other continuous improvements, play an increasingly important role in earning the award.

J. B. Hunt installed Terion Fleetview® trailer tracking units with acoustic cargo sensors on PPG trailers at the start of the project. Trailer tracking enabled Hunt to operate the fleet more efficiently and significantly reduce the trailer-to-tractor ratio. The competitive advantage gained from the use of this technology saves PPG hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in operating costs.
