The Cargo Sensor is a single component installed in the front of the trailer, which indicates a trailer-loaded condition when an object greater in size than 4 foot cubed is detected. The technology uses ultrasonic high-frequency sound waves to 'see' the entire length of the trailer. The Cargo Sensor is adaptable to different trailer lengths and different interior surfaces such as plywood or metal plates, and is virtually maintenance free.

The Cargo Sensor records the time a trailer is loaded or unloaded for detention billing purposes. The loaded/unloaded status can be viewed on the customer’s FleetView Internet display or can be sent automatically to an e-mail address.
